Welcome to The Crypt: a vibrant, multi-purpose, day-lit recording studio complex, steeped in history and character. With an extraordinary range of modern and vintage equipment, we are dedicated to bringing our flair and 20 years of expertise to your recordings, mixes and masters.

The iconic church building in which The Crypt Studios resides sits proudly in the centre of Crouch End and has seen many changes over the years. Beginning as a traditional church in the 1800s, it remained this way until the second half of the 20th century, where it was derelict for a period and temporarily housed a stop motion studio ran by celebrated animators Bob Burra and John Hardwick.

The building was once partly owned by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, before splitting into multiple sections. It now consists of a functioning church and several separate studio endeavours, the helms of which have been passed between several high-profile musicians.

Over the years, The Crypt Studio has recorded with labels including Universal, Island and Atlantic, has partnered with companies such as Airbnb and curated events with Sofar Sounds, The Royal Academy of Arts and Standon Calling Festival.
